This archive is small on purpose. The pages it publishes are the ones the restaurant published, and the links it follows are the ones needed to check them. This page lists where the facts come from, and the handful of references the archive keeps on file for readers.
The record
Everything on this site traces back to one of four things. Nothing has been added to fill space, and where a source could not be recovered the pages say so explicitly.
- The original menu card — the four-page printed menu, preserved as a PDF and transcribed in full on the menu page.
- The restaurant's own website — the home page, the page on the Basque people, the reviews, the contact details and the directions page, restored from sliced images into searchable text.
- The Dover press — the local review published by dover_nj.com while that site was online, quoted in full on the reviews page.
- The fire reports — NorthJersey.com, 18 September 2023, NorthJersey.com, 2 May 2024 and Patch, May 2024 — the primary record of the closure.

From the archive's files
When the dining room was full, the conversations were not always about food. Several of the restaurant's regulars collected watches, and after the closure the questions kept coming in about what the grading terms on the listings actually meant. The archive keeps one reference on file for the question: a plain-language guide to replica watches that walks through the grades in order, from the straight copy to the piece a collector would keep on a shelf.
The same file goes one level deeper for the brand people ask about most often. The super clone Rolex entry explains how the case, the dial and the movement are checked against the original — the level of detail the collectors at the Jai Alai used to argue about over a final glass of sangria.
